Level 3 Mastership
The 3rd level completes your initiation to the Reiki energy and provides you with the training to initiate others into Reiki. It is not the end, but the beginning…….
Level 3 brings us back to the simplicity and oneness with a more in depth understanding of who we really are and the real purpose of the healing journey.

Tera-Mai ™ Reiki Master Nicola Woodcock
Students will be taught the importance of being able to completely trust their higher guidance.
The objective of the Tera-Mai™ Reiki Level 3 Mastership is for the Reiki Level 2 healer to learn to be able to teach through their own apprenticeship of experience and pass on all 3 Tera-Mai™ Reiki initiations onto others. Students will be required to demonstrate their competence before receiving their Tera-Mai™ Reiki Level 3 Mastership certificate.
Students also learn how to pass the ancient initiations into the ancient Order of Melchizedek and YOD.
The High Priest Melchizedek, established a healing order of priests and priestesses, is mentioned several times in the Old Testament. In the New Testament, Jesus initiates a priest into the Oder of Melchizedek. The order of Melchizedek connects the initiate to the Divine Plan for Earth and the Ancient Ones. It brings about a natural flow, directly affects nerves, grounds healing, and is a foundation for all healing. During the initiation, students often feel prickling in their feet and lower legs, and an expansion in their head.
YOD is the first initiation into the Egyptian Cartouche. Each of these energies represents a different hierarchical layer. It helps to bring about a state of heightened awareness thus seeing beyond past external illusions. The catch is that because the energies are both high and subtle, the initiate must have a quiet mind and clear conscience in order to access the energy. YOD helps to improve intuition.
“Knowing others is intelligence.
Knowing yourself is true wisdom.
Mastering others is strength;
Mastering yourself is true power.”
~Lao Tzu, Tao Te Ching~

“Leave No Stone Unturned”.
As an energy healer and teacher of Hands-in healing, Tera-Mai™ Reiki & Seichem I meet many individuals who are drawn to the healing and want to become Reiki Masters.
I encourage all potential students to experience a treatment first. They can then make a more informed decision. Reiki level 1 is the next step. After completing this training they should be sufficiently confident to then complete their practical apprenticeship (which is vital for the practitioner course, Reiki level 2).
Once the student has had sufficient practical experience, they can then tackle the level 3 mastership level.
It’s only when a level 3 teaches their first class of students that they earn their title “Reiki master “.
It is only through this practical journey that we gain the necessary experience to achieve self mastership. There is no shortcut . No stone is left unturned!
When should a Tera-Mai™ Reiki practitioner complete their level 3 Mastership training?
There is no fixed time to this question. It really depends upon each individual. This level is the teaching level so therefore it is important that the practitioner has gained sufficient confidence and practical experience to guide and support any students that they may teach. The Level 2 student is only going to be an effective teacher if they have completed their apprenticeship of being an active practitioner. One does not have to be a Reiki Master in order to be a successful practitioner, that is a fallacy.
When a student asks if they are ready to take their level 3 the following questions should be asked:
- Does this student understand the meaning of integrity & holding confidentiality?
- Has the student gained sufficient practical experience as a Reiki practitioner?
- Is the student sufficiently comfortable with all their level 2 tools & healing techniques to explain their uses to others?
Level 3/Mastership Level is the teacher level, so it is really important that Reiki students completes their apprenticeship before taking on that next step of teaching Reiki to others. It’s the journey, not the destination.

So You Want To Be a Reiki Master?
Whilst attending a complementary event in Tunbridge Wells back in early 2005, I was approached by a massage practitioner who asked me the following question. “I would like to do my Reiki Masters to complement my massage practice, can you teach me?”
In response to this request, I enquired as to her current Reiki level, if she was practicing and how much experience she had gained in her practice. It turned out that she had just completed her Reiki level 2 and still had to gain the essential practical experience necessary for the Reiki level 3/Master level.
I then asked her the following: ”What will you do once you attain the level of Master Teacher?” (the answer being “chop wood and fetch water”) Her answer to me was that she wanted to add onto her massage skills and become a Reiki master.
Let us define what exactly a Reiki master is. A Reiki master is essentially a teacher, someone who has worked at each Reiki level and through their own apprenticeship, gained sufficient knowledge in the theory and actual application to be able to hand down and teach the gift of Reiki with confidence and enthusiasm to the next generation of students. This requires that the teacher does not compromise or take any short cuts in communicating the subject matter. It should be passed down in it’s purity with integrity.
To become an effective Reiki Master Teacher requires total dedication, integrity, and the ability to hold trust and set a good example to students. This is not always easy. It can be a lonely path and yet one of the most challenging and rewarding. This is where selecting your teacher with care is so important.
The key to teaching Reiki effectively is for a teacher to teach it with unconditional compassion, love, understanding and without being judgemental. The ego of the teacher should never stand in the way of either empowering students to reach a higher level or omitting important material helpful training tips.
Equally, the student needs to be prepared to disengage from their ego before embarking on their Reiki journey. Every student that takes their Reiki level one training has the posibility of becoming a Reiki master/teacher themselves.
As a Reiki master, you will be expected to offer continued support and mentoring for your students along with possible initiation upgrades. Reiki shares or Reiki gatherings for students attend is another way for students to connect with other Reiki practitioners providing practical and spiritual growth for anyone commited to their Reiki journey.
For any potential student to be able to select their Reiki teacher they will need to do some research. It is really important for a student to meet their teacher before commencing with their training and advisable to receive a treatment from this teacher. This tells the student that the teacher has a “hands-on” approach and is not sitting in an ivory tower just churning out students.
It saddens me to see how many prospective students (who had already done level one with another teacher) were poorly taught. It is my recommendation that all potential Reiki students do their homework first, ask pertinent questions and not make the mistake of going just on price and a quick weekend course.
Don’t suffer unnecessary regret. Invest in yourself and select your Reiki teacher with care. Remember, it’s the journey, not the destination.

For those wanting to learn about Tera-Mai™ Healing and Reiki I strongly advise a treatment with me prior to registering for a course. Students will find this extremely beneficial, especially once the course starts. After the core training, there are on-going workshops to continue to and expand the learning process reinforcing what I teach, thus allowing students to develop their healing skills
